Generations ago, in the heart of Rechmaya, a profound love for nature began to flourish.

In more recent times, an idea took root, as great stories often do: What if the essence of that profound connection to nature could be captured in a single sip? What if the very place that gifted serene summer afternoons could also create something to enhance them even further? And what if a laid-back pub could grow organically around this concept?

Chady and Maya pondered these questions and, in due course, discovered their answer: Rechmaya Distillery—a haven for gastronomy, community, artistic expression, and delightful conversations.

Oh, and gin. Gin was important too.

The Cheerful Couple

Founders Chady and Maya initially found themselves immersed in the creative realm of the Dubai advertising industry. However, the corporate landscape began to stifle their spirits, rekindling their deep-seated love for nature and freedom. This renewed passion led them back to their roots, prompting them to embark on a remarkable journey: establishing their very own craft distillery in their beloved hometown of Rechmaya.

Driven by an unwavering passion for flavors and an eagerness to experiment with diverse ingredients, Chady, armed with a cooking certificate, delved into advanced distillation courses, honing his skills to craft the most exquisitely balanced gin recipe. Meanwhile, Maya, with her years of experience in communication, dedicated herself to infusing the brand with a vibrant and inviting image.

As two halves of a harmonious whole, Chady and Maya are inherently cheerful and sociable individuals who relish the art of hospitality. While living abroad, they yearned for the simple joys of their matured garden, the breathtaking mountain vistas, and the serenity of relaxing beneath the apricot tree, sharing drinks and barbecues with friends.

Jun embodies the essence of rechmaya life and its profound connection to nature.

Crafted in the Lebanese village of Rechmaya, JUN Lebanese gin blends the local juniper excelsa with 8 other botanicals, reflecting the spirit of June and the summer mood.

Rooted in the village tradition with modern influences, it is distilled with care by a still named Matilda after our grandmother, residing in the heart of nature. Jun is more than a gin; it’s a harmonious mix, encapsulating a simple philosophy in a word: enjoy. 

It is, after all, the Cheerful Spirit.
